Auf der S11 der S-Bahn Mitteldeutschland fahren die mit Abstand ungewöhnlichen S-Bahn-Fahrzeuge Deutschlands. Diese wurde erst im Dezember 2024 eingeführt, verkehrte vorher jedoch als RB78 und ist somit nur eine umbenannte Regionalbahn. Hier stehen zwei Walfische in S-Bahn-Lackierung als S11 Richtung Querfurt auf den vorderen Ende des Gleises 12 am Hallenser Hauptbahnhof.
