The Transdev Regio Ost GmbH (TDRO) operates railway lines in the state of Saxony, formerly also in Saxony-Anhalt, under the brand “Mitteldeutsche Regiobahn” (MRB). Founded in 2001 as “Connex Sachsen”, it initially operated services under the name “Lausitzbahn”. In November 2008, the company was renamed in Veolia Verkehr Regio Ost (VVRO) and the MRB operations began in December 2009, including on the Leipzig S-Bahn until 2013. Eventually Transdev took over the company.
